5 Promises

Guiding Principles

The following principles guide the foundations grants awards.

1. All applications must support one or more of the five promises:
   • Caring Adults – every child needs a compassionate role model
   • Safe Places – every child needs a place that provides physical and emotional security
   • Healthy Start – every child needs a healthy mind and healthy body
   • Effective Education – every child needs the intellectual skills to compete in a global economy
   • Opportunities to help others – every child needs the chance to “make a difference”
2. All applications must represent a group or an organization
3. All applications must show evidence of collaboration with at least one other group or organization
4. All applications must include goals, objective, and outcomes
